Here’s something that jumped out to me in a recent Florida Realtors® report: FSBOs (For Sale By Owner listings) just dropped to their lowest level in 40 years. Just 7% of homes in the U.S. were sold without a real estate agent in 2024, and the trend is even more pronounced here in Florida.

As someone who’s been working in South Tampa real estate for over 20 years, I’m not surprised. Selling your home on your own sounds simple in theory, but in today’s fast-moving, detail-heavy market, it can actually cost you more time, money, and stress than you’d think.

  • FSBO is a stressful, clunky experience for owners. Most FSBO sellers struggle with pricing, negotiation, legal paperwork, and marketing—all areas where agents provide real value.
