Housing crash? What housing crash?  

As I’m sure you’ve guessed, I’ve been keeping tabs on the market to let everyone know how things are looking. And despite the doomsday-ers predicting a downward spiral in property sales and values during the unstable economy we’ve been navigating for the past few years, the real estate housing market in Florida has remained a solid investment.  

Experts have been predicting a rebound in the housing market since the beginning of this year. The Dow released results in May for the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices that show all 20 major metro markets reporting month-over-month price increases. (For those that don’t study the real estate market regularly, the Case-Shiller home price indices are the leading measure of U.S. home prices.)  

Not surprisingly, Miami, Tampa, and Charlotte ranked in the top three for the highest year-over-year gains in the housing price index. As of March 2023, Tampa has been generating a 4.85% one-year return on investment.  

Ergo, despite the world going bonkers since March of 2020, making your home in Tampa has been a piece of sanity – and literally paid off. Tampa consistently outdoes itself when it comes to demonstrating its value. 

It also doesn’t hurt that Tampa is truly a fantastic place to live without the premiums you pay in other coastal cities. As a Tampa native, I can vouch that we don’t really have tradeoffs here.
