best cities for quality of life (2023); florida cities best for first time homebuyers; community quality of life

The results are in: Florida crushed it in WalletHub’s market analysis for the best cities for first-time homebuyers, sweeping the top three rankings with Palm Bay, Cape Coral, and of course – Tampa! In fact, Florida took the top five rankings and eight spots total in the top 30 cities.

People often have to balance wants and needs when looking for a home and don’t always know what’s realistic for the market they’re searching in. Location is essential, but so are the neighborhood and surrounding resources. So WalletHub evaluated 300 US cities for 22 key indicators, including market attractiveness, affordability, quality of life, cost of living, real estate taxes, crime rates, and more.

Wouldn’t you know it – in addition to its #3 overall ranking, Tampa came in #1 for quality of life and #6 for the real estate market and also ranked well for affordability. (Who ranked at the bottom? Sorry, West Coast, but California took nine of the ten spots for lowest-scoring cities, with Anchorage thrown in.)

While the Tampa locals have always known this, the country is catching on to the fact that we have it all here in Tampa – a lavish lifestyle, affordable living, and a booming real estate market that continues to dominate property values. No wonder it’s an excellent place for a first time homebuyer to get a strong return on investment. I’ve written a few articles this year discussing how people are flocking to Florida since the global pandemic, and it’s not just for the gorgeous beaches!

If you’re looking to get your foot in the door here in the Tampa housing market, let me be your guide and resource to show you around and view the best listings. It’s not too late to jump into the hot real estate market here and make that move.
