If you still have cold feet about the real estate market and are feeling unsure about whether it is the right time to buy or sell a home, a National Association of Realtors (NAR) survey highlights some good news.

The survey, which quizzed Realtors about the state of the markets in which they work, showed that many buyers and sellers never abandoned the market and that they continued to sell and buy homes as shelter-in-place orders were lifted. Part of this was due to Realtors pivoting to different technologies in order to continue showing homes safely and engage with buyers.

The survey stated that most timelines haven’t changed and that both buyers and sellers remain motivated.

According to Lawrence Yun, NAR’s chief economist, there’s a lot of pent-up demand for homes among buyers. While inventory still remains low, more houses are being listed, helping to meet some of that demand. This has resulted in higher home prices for sellers and quicker sales.
